Fairytale  Ballet

What does a typical Fairytale dance class look like?

Students begin with circle time and a warm-up. They will use their imagination to 'make' a pizza, cookie, ice cream sundae, etc. Coach Collins or Maggie will lead them through exercises cleverly matched with the steps of assembling their item. This is a great opportunity for students to use their imagination while warming up their muscles!

After circle-time, students will finish their warmup with a freeze dance session. They'll first "turn up their listening ears" and go over Coach Collins's three rules for freeze dance (no running, no touching, no gymnastics!).

Coach Collins then does a quick review of past dance moves in the center of the floor before moving into new skills. Students will learn two to three NEW dance moves each week until they start their dance routine for the recital.

With thirteen classes in each semester, we typically start learning our dance routine around Week 5! Attendance is super important once this happens, so please communicate with Coach Collins if your student plans to be absent.
